How To Choose Lubricating Oil For Reducer?

Reducer lubricating oil should be selected according to the gear reducer’s operating environment, load size, movement characteristics and friction forms. High-speed gears should choose gear oils with low viscosity and good fluidity. Low-speed gears should be selected. Choose lubricating oil with good abrasion resistance, and low-condensing gear oil should be selected for gears running at low temperatures.

1. Inspection method of reducer lubricating oil:

(1) Cut off the power to prevent electric shock. Wait for the reducer to cool down;

(2) Open the oil drain plug and take an oil sample;

(3) Check the viscosity index of the oil: if the oil is obviously turbid, it is recommended to replace it as soon as possible;

(4) For the reducer with oil level plug: check the oil level, whether it is qualified; install the oil level plug.

2. How to replace the lubricating oil of the reducer:

(1) After cooling, the viscosity of the oil increases and it is difficult to drain the oil. The reducer should change the oil at the operating temperature.

(2) Cut off the power to prevent electric shock. Wait for the reducer to cool down and there is no danger of burning;

(3) Note: The reducer should still be kept warm when changing the oil;

(4) Put an oil pan under the oil drain plug;

(5) Open the oil level plug, breather and oil drain plug;

(6) Eliminate all the oil;

(7) Install the oil drain plug;

(8) Inject new oil of the same brand;

(9) The amount of oil should be consistent with the installation position;

(10) Check the oil level at the oil level plug;

(11) Tighten the oil level plug and breather.

Precautions for the use of reducer lubricating oil:

1. Ensure that the fueler is clean, avoid impurities and other pollutants from entering the fuel tank, and prevent water leakage, oil leakage and oil mixing;

2. Add lubricating oil in an appropriate amount, and the refueling operation shall be carried out in strict accordance with the instructions of the relevant manual. In addition, the lubricating oil of the gear reducer should be replaced regularly;

3. Minimize the impact of the environment on the lubricating oil, and ensure that the lubricating oil works under stable and suitable environmental conditions, and the oil temperature during work cannot exceed 80 ℃;

4. When selecting lubricating oil, it should be selected reasonably according to different purposes and the working conditions of different types of gear reducers. This will not only ensure the stable operation of the lubrication system, but also reduce the cost of lubrication.
