Features Of Air Motor

Pneumatic motor is a prime mover with compressed air as the working medium. It is a power device that uses the expansion of compressed gas to convert pressure energy into mechanical energy.

Although various types of air motors have different structures and working principles, most air motors have the following characteristics:

1. Stepless speed regulation is possible. As long as the opening of the intake valve or exhaust valve is controlled, that is, the flow of compressed air is controlled, the output power and speed of the motor can be adjusted. The purpose of adjusting speed and power can be achieved.

2. It can rotate forward and reverse. Most air motors simply use the control valve to change the direction of the motor’s intake and exhaust, which can realize the forward and reverse rotation of the output shaft of the air motor, and can change the direction instantaneously. In the forward and reverse conversion, the impact is small. One of the main advantages of the reversing operation of the air motor is that it has the ability to rise to full speed almost instantaneously. The vane air motor can rise to full speed in one and a half revolutions; the piston air motor can rise to full speed in less than one second. Using the control valve to change the direction of the air intake can realize forward and reverse rotation. The time to realize forward and reverse rotation is short, the speed is fast, the impact is small, and there is no need to unload the load.

3. Work safety. not affected by vibration, high temperature, electromagnetic, radiation, etc., suitable for harsh working environment, and can work normally under adverse conditions such as flammable, explosive, high temperature, vibration, humidity, and dust.

4. With overload protection, it will not malfunction due to overload. When the motor is overloaded, the speed of the motor is only reduced or stopped. When the overload is removed, it can resume normal operation immediately, and no malfunctions such as mechanical damage will occur. It can run continuously for a long time with full load, and the temperature rise is small.

5. With high starting torque. it can be started directly with load. Both start and stop are rapid. It can be started with load. Start and stop quickly.

6. Wide power range and speed range. The power is as small as a few hundred watts, as large as tens of thousands of watts; the speed can be from zero to ten thousand revolutions per minute.

7. Convenient operation, easy maintenance and repair The air motor has a simple structure, small size, light weight, large horsepower, easy operation and convenient maintenance.

8. Using air as the medium, there is no difficulty in supply, the used air does not need to be treated, and it is put into the atmosphere without pollution. The compressed air can be supplied centrally and transported over a long distance.
Because the air motor has many of the above characteristics, it can work in harsh environments such as humidity, high temperature, and high dust. In addition to being used as power in equipment such as rock drilling, drilling and loading in mining machinery, it is also widely used in shipbuilding, metallurgy, chemical, papermaking and other industries.
Air motor is the best alternative to explosion-proof motors. In addition to standard models, we also have air reduction motor models equipped with reducers, with reduction ratios ranging from 10:1 to 60:1.

Features include:
1) Variable speed;
2) Explosion-proof-no electric spark;
3) No heat during operation;
4) Will not burn out;
5) Both forward and reverse directions are possible.
